History of The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden Salon is an independently owned and operated hair salon that has been serving the community of Northern Virginia for over 20 years. With over 50 years of combined experience in the industry, owners Scott Wray and Heidi Pappas opened The Secret Garden Salon after embarking on their own individual talents. In the early years of training, both Scott and Heidi fell in love with the art and science of cosmetology. In the late 1980's both Scott and Heidi began to learn the advanced study of hair techniques at some of the world's most elite institutes of cosmetology... Graham Webb Academy of Hair, The Redkin Institute of New York City, and TIGI to name a few.

Scott and Heidi opened The Secret Garden Salon in 1997 after they began their careers and cosmetology training as teens. Their paths first crossed in Warrenton 27 years ago. "We really connected and saw eye-to-eye", Scott remembers. Heidi says she could see that Scott "was very talented, and we just became friends." Scott felt the same about Heidi and together, their aim was to create a boutique atmosphere - something new and hip and reminiscent of salons in New York City. Recent updates and redecorating has given their salon a more Scandinavian, uncluttered look, Heidi says, that's "minimalistic with touches of antiques." With newly refinished floors and an overall sparkle Scott and Heidi's vision was to create a warm, intimate environment with a well trained staff offering exceptional service and attention to detail. Their understanding of how uplifting it is to feel good about one's appearance has made The Secret Garden Salon, Warrenton's most unique and popular hair salon.
